Introducing the official 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival poster designed by one of our favorite Texas artists, Carlos Hernandez. Hernandez fully embraces his Mexican heritage in his work, leaning on a folk art style that often features Day of the Dead imagery and animalia. In honor of our expansion to two weekends, Hernandez created for us a double-headed snake ready to strike with a pair of lightning bolt tongues. Richly textured and rife with details that evoke both Austin and the Festival, the design feels positively electrified.
The poster is offered in three editions, each with its own special features to suit every level of collector. At 18” x 24”, the Commemorative and Numbered Editions feature one half of the snake — the left half for Weekend One and the right for Weekend Two. The Signed & Numbered Edition expands to a generous 24” x 36” to include the entire snake along with additional elements. See below for more details.
• Signed & Numbered Edition $175 — Silk-screened with five colors (blue, red, black, yellow and orange) on super-heavyweight, 100% cotton rag paper, acid-free and archival quality. This version does not include the band lineup. Printed in a limited edition of 100, each hand-numbered and -signed by the artist.
• Commemorative Edition $30 — Offset-printed with four-color process ink on heavyweight, 100% post-consumer waste recycled acid-free paper. Includes complete band lineup below the artwork. Weekend One version is black and red on a blue background; Weekend Two version is black and red on a golden yellow background. 18” x 24”
• Numbered Edition $60 — Silk-screened with three colors on heavyweight, 100% post-consumer waste recycled acid-free paper. Includes complete band lineup below the artwork. Hand-numbered in an edition of 500 each for Weekends One and Two. 18” x 24”
As with all of our posters, they are available only while supplies last and will not be re-issued once they sell out.
