Austin and the ACL Festival are must-see destinations for any music lover, and we celebrate that idea in this year's commemorative poster. Inspired by classic travel posters of the 1920s and '30s, acclaimed illustrator Andy Gregg of Anderson Design Group created a color-rich, highly stylized landscape that evokes the view of the city skyline as seen over the east main stage of the Festival. Our resident bats soar overhead in the starry sky alongside the beckoning words, Visit the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
The Commemorative Edition is offset-printed with four-color process ink on uncoated, heavyweight, 100% post-consumer recycled paper. The complete band lineup is listed at the bottom below the main artwork, and the overall dimension are 18-in x 24-in. The posters are printed in a limited quantity, and once they are sold out will not be re-issued.
For true collectors, the poster is also offered in two special companion editions: Numbered and Signed & Numbered. Don't miss out!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Anderson Design Group has been doing award-winning branding and poster design since 1993 for clients all over the USA. The Nashville-based firm's illustrated poster art hangs in homes, businesses and galleries on every continent. Founder Joel Anderson studied illustration and classic poster art before graduating from Ringling School of Art & Design in 1986. As an Emmy and ADDY Award winning artist, Joel acts as the creative director, conducting a diverse orchestra of visual artists who are all brilliant in their own right. One of his design firm's young design stars is Andy Gregg, who graduated from Watkins School of Art Design & Film in 2010. Andy started as an intern with ADG and quickly proved to be an award-winning poster artist and illustrator. He has created dozens of posters for Anderson Design Group—his latest being one of his favorites—the 2012 Austin City Limits Music Festival poster.
