2011 ACL Festival Poster - Felice House Gravure
To celebrate ACL Festival's 10th birthday, we commissioned two artists to create one-of-a-kind posters. Austinite Felice House used her signature representational style to perfectly capture the free-spirited joy of the Festival. Painted from the perspective of a band on stage, we see the wildly cheering audience, a ribbon of sparkling blue water from Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline soaring above Zilker Park.
We've faithfully reproduced Felice's design in three different special editions — Silkscreen, Signed & Numbered Silkscreen and Signed & Numbered Gravure. The Gravure version shown here is a five-color print using the intaglio engraving technique in collaboration with the master printers at Flatbed Press. This old-world method, used often in fine-art printmaking, is done completely by hand from start to finish and creates a richly colored and tactile print. To enhance the artistic quality of this edition, the band lineup is not included. Only 50 of these were printed, and once they are sold out will not be re-issued.
